About CapitalMatrix
The standards, methodology, and editorial process behind everything we publish.
Quantitative Research Standards
Our calculators use standard, published financial mathematics — compound interest, weighted-average drift, and dividend reinvestment arithmetic — rather than proprietary black-box models. Every input is user-controlled, and every output is a direct function of those inputs, so results can be independently reproduced with a spreadsheet or financial calculator.
We do not publish forecasts framed as predictions. Where illustrative figures appear, they are explicitly labeled as illustrative and are never presented as historical performance or a guarantee of future results.
Editorial Integrity
CapitalMatrix does not accept payment to feature a specific security, fund, or firm, and does not manage client assets or receive compensation tied to any recommendation. Our content is analytical rather than product-driven, and it is written to explain mechanics and frameworks rather than to direct readers toward any particular product.

Our Methodology
Each page is developed through a clear research and review process, combining established financial principles, verified calculations, and plain-language explanations.
Topics begin with established financial concepts, portfolio principles, and widely used analytical frameworks.
Calculator formulas and portfolio logic are reviewed against established mathematical methods before publication.
Technical concepts are translated into straightforward language so the reasoning behind each framework remains accessible.
Published material is periodically revisited to maintain clarity, consistency, and relevance over time.
Data Transparency
Every calculator on this site discloses its assumptions directly beneath the inputs — compounding frequency, reinvestment behavior, and whether costs or taxes are included. Nothing is calculated behind the scenes using undisclosed adjustments.
Ethics
We aim to leave readers better equipped to evaluate their own decisions, not to steer them toward a specific outcome. Where a topic carries genuine trade-offs, we try to present them as trade-offs rather than resolving them for the reader.
